The Nigerian Bar Association, Kogi State and indeed the entire people of Nigeria were thrown into mourning on Sunday following the death of Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim SAN. He was also one of the most senior lawyers in Nigeria and the first SAN from the nort. 

Commonly revered as the first Senior Advocate of Nigeria of northern extraction, the cause of his death has not been confirmed and disclosed by the family as at the time of this report. 

The late senior lawyer before his death has served Nigeria in different capacity. He served during the military regime of Muhammadu Buhari in the 1980s as Nigeria Minister Transportation. He was also the Attorney General and Minister of Justice under the regimes of Sani Abacha and Abdulsalam Abubakar respectively. 

Until his death, Abdullahi Ibrahim, SAN was a native of Okaba of Ankpa Local Government Area of of Kogi State. 

He was said to have been called to the English Bar in 1963 and was subsequently called to the Nigerian Bar Association in 1964.

Eventually conferred with the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria as early as 1982, the late Alhaji Ibrahim became the first senior advocate of Nigeria from the north part of the country.
